Braised Red Cabbage


3 lb red cabbage, finely shredded
1 C cider vinegar
2 C sugar (wow!)
salt and pepper
1 clove
2 apples, sliced
1 large onion
1 T cornstarch

In a pot, place red cabbage, vinegar, and sugar. Place on medium heat and stir. Add remaining ingredients except cornstarch. Simmer until tender-about I hour. Adjust seasonings. Mix cornstarch with 1/4 C water. Stir in and bring to a boil, then turn off heat. You're done.
